Expert Tips When Starting the Wedding Dress Hunt

So you want to start the dress hunt. You’re looking for the perfect dress that will make your fiancés eyes well up with tears. A dress that will take the breath away of everybody in the room- where do you start?!

With the market being so saturated with boutiques that claim to have the best dresses in the country, this can prove to be a difficult feat. However, luckily for you, this is the age of information and you can get it in a heartbeat thanks to… the Internet!

Things to check out BEFORE starting the dress hunt:

The Website

A sketchy website is indicative of a shop that isn’t perhaps as tech-savvy as they ought to be. In this day and age, you want to be able to see what they have in store. A site, where you can book and have all your questions answered without having to pick up the phone to dig for information. It is the face of the business. If a shop can’t be bothered to dolly up their site for your benefit, they probably won’t be going to much of an effort in-store either.

Reviews

Word of mouth is one of the most powerful marketers. A boutique that is not invested in making the bride’s lives better will probably have a lower rating. So keep your ear to the ground, ask people who have bought wedding dresses, where they recommend going and see what the public thinks of the store and their service. Moreover, another thing to bear in mind is the number of reviews as well as the sources they come from. It’s easy to have a 5-star review if one person rated you. However, it is more difficult to maintain a positive score when you have over 200 reviews!

Location

Where is the shop located? Use Google Maps/ Earth to help you out with this one. You don’t want to end up in a bad part of town trying to find a boutique located in a dingy alley.  Ask yourself, is this the place where you want to embark on your journey as a bride?

Their Social Media Pages

It’s the 21st Century and we are on the cusp of 2020! Social media is important for the future of any business. Social media accounts really give you a feel for the type of shop it is and for if you will be able to walk a journey with the respective boutique. Your bridal journey is just as important as the dress. Besides, you want to have a good and happy experience that will give you fond memories to cherish for the rest of your life.

The Brands They Stock

Make sure the brands the shop stocks are LEGIT and that they are authorised retailers. It will be the difference between finding a cheap knock off, with a bad fit and poor quality and finding the real deal that will make you look and feel like a princess. You, at least. owe that to yourself!

Finally, PAY ATTENTION

The way people treat you over the phone or via email is just as important as how they treat you face to face. If their phone and email etiquette stinks you can be sure to be disappointed when you pay them a visit!
